Recipe of the Week: Spelt Bread

Are you looking for a recipe for bread that is easy to mix up, has few ingredients and contains no dairy, wheat or yeast? Well, I have one for you. It is very simple, and I think it tastes fantastic. My family feels the same way.

Spelt Bread

Ingredients:
4 cups spelt flour
1/4 cup sesame seed or flax seeds (optional)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 Tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups water or rice milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix together all the ingredients with a wooden spoon.
Put the batter into 1 well greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes with another loaf pan on top for a golden brown crust.
Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before taking out of the loaf pan.

This recipe can be doubled if you want to make more than one loaf at a time. I decided to stick with one as we don't eat a lot of bread at our house.

If you try it, let me know how it goes!
